Funny photos first:
Okay, this isn't really funny. But seriously, why doesn't America have those cute little baby laptops?

1. It's back to school time! Are YOU going back to school?
Yes!

2. Speaking of back to school... You receive 10 pts if you can name this movie:
"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms."
Sadly, I couldn't. But I cheated and googled it. Heehee "You've Got Mail".

3. Who did you hang out with in school? Cool kids, jocks, nerds, were you a loner, etc? (all are welcome here- btw)
Was homeschooled :) But I did go to a charter school for homeschoolers one day a week. I was the most popular kid in 2nd grade! Haha

4. What was your favorite subject in school?
Writing and art. I loved being creative, plus art was the class where everyone would chat nonstop.

5. (I've asked this question before, but it was a while ago) If you had to go back and redo one of the following, which would you choose and why? Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, High School, College?
I would do 2nd grade. Things were so simple back then ;)

6. Home/ Packed Lunch or School Lunch?
Packed! Oh most definitely.

7. What's more exciting? The first day of school or the last day of school?
First day - time to back in the groove of things.

Kids craft: Wooden wall decor

Aug 12, 2012

Here's a fun and easy project for kids to make their own wall art!
Remember these cute little things? Yep - Jenga blocks. I'm pretty much convinced you can make anything out of 'em.

Today I will be sharing with you how to make your own mini wooden wall decor out of Jenga blocks. This is a fun project to do with your kid of any age, and so easy to personalize!

Supplies:
Paint (mine's Martha Stewart Multi-surface high-gloss, and Multi-surface glitter)
Paintbrush
Hot glue gun
Pencil
Small piece of wire

Let's get started...
Start by drawing out your design on your blocks. It can be very intricate or very simple, like mine.

Here's the fun part... paint!
I painted the edges as well to add a little pop of glitter.
Let the paint dry. Now, take your hot glue gun and glue the blocks together. If you are doing this with a child, be sure to do this for them.

Once glued, stick the wire in and secure it with hot glue...

...and Voila! You (or your child) have cute + fun wall art. Wouldn't it look so nice as part of a gallery wall?
