Washi Pencil Cup

Apr 16, 2012

Today I can't wait to share this cute pencil cup! I think I'm officially sucked into the world of Washi tape. In cased you missed it, I did a post about my Washi tape tray last week.

Supplies:
Washi tape (Target $4/4 rolls)
Square pencil cup (Target, I think around $6)

Are you noticing my love for Target yet?

BEFORE
AFTER
I took three different sets of Washi tape and taped them down vertically, horizontally, and diagonally.
No more explanation necessary (that's the beauty of Washi)
I love my new colorful pencil cup!

Washi Tape Tray

Apr 10, 2012

Supplies:
Wooden tray (Target dollar section, $2.50)
Washi tape ($4/pack Target, office section)
Scissors

I fell in love with this wooden tray from Target in the dollar section (my favorite section).
And of course, what tray couldn't use a little Washi tape? Target has the cheapest Washi tape I've ever seen, at $4 for 4 rolls!

Sock Bunnies

Mar 25, 2012

What's cuter than a little bunny?
.
.
.
A Sock Bunny!

You are definitely in for a treat today!

Based on the beanbags here, I created these fun little bunnies!

Let's start hoppin'!
Supplies:
Child's sock ($1 from Target dollar section)
Scrap felt
Scissors
About 1/2 bag of rice
Glue
Pom pom
rubber band
Ribbon (I bought mine here)

Fill the sock just before the heel.
Tie the top off with a rubber band, and tie a ribbon around the center to separate the body from the head.

I cut lots of different felt faces before I settled on just one.

 Cut the ears, rounding them.
Since the heel was pink, it made the pink 'insides' of ears that bunnies have!
Glue the pom pom on the back
You're done!
I took lots of photos of both my bunnies - so much fun! Which bunny is your favorite?

 Bunny bums!

Guess what? Both of the bunnies cost me $.50 - I had everything else on hand except the striped sock.
Have an awesome Sunday!

Giant, Decorative Tulle Bow

Mar 17, 2012

Another little girl's room project! You could also use this cute bow to decorate a lamp, or a gift box/bag!
I posted a No-Sew Doll Pillow the other day, go check it out!

Supplies:
One large strip of tulle (about 3' x 1'?)
Hot Glue
Scissors

Start with your strip of tulle (It's kind of hard to see - sorry. Look for the purple tint!)

No-Sew Doll House Pillow With Hidden Storage

Mar 12, 2012

I created this for a young girl's dollhouse. This fabulous fabric (it's perfect for Barbies!) I think came from Joann. What's great about this pillow is that it has a secret pocket on the back to store all those little Barbie pieces that get lost!

Okay, moving on:
Supplies:
Scrap fabric (large enough to stretch three times the doll bed's width)
Ruler/measuring tape
Hot Glue gun
Stuffing
Scissors (extra sharp or fabric scissors work best)
Start by measuring your doll bed. This one's a tad over four inches. Add just half an inch more to that. (So, rounding it, it would be 4 1/2 inches)
Measure the width of your pillow. I did three inches in, but it depends on the size of your doll bed. (Keep in mind, the larger you go, the more hidden storage room there is)
Now cut that piece of fabric (So, mine was 4 1/2 x 3 inches). Then cut a second one. Layer them so that each print is sandwiched inside.
Now glue the edges of that together, but keep one side open.
Turn inside out!
Put your pillow 'case' on top of another scrap of fabric, and cut that one so that there's a bit more than half an inch, bordering each side except the open, un-glued end.

Now take that and glue those half inch sides on top.
Your pillow should now have two different holes.

Mini Spring Easter Basket {from paper}

Mar 7, 2012

Based off of this pin here, I made a knock-off and came up with an Easter basket.
It is super easy and would make a great gift for a friend!

Supplies:
6x6 inch square of cardstock (mine's double-sided color)
Scoring tool
Glue
Pastel/'Spring color' ribbon (I got my cute green ribbon from here)
Pastel buttons
circle punch
Scissors

Score two inches in vertically. Then score four inches in. Once you've done one side, flip it around and do the other side.
 Cut into the scoring marks.
Now cut the two middles into a triangle and each end flap into thirds
Now fold each flap in, and fold the triangle up.
Glue the punched (or cut out) circle over the tip

Now do both sides and add a handle (I stitched mine on, but you could also glue it)
Voila!

I had a fun time taking photos of my basket....

Happy Wednesday!
